CrackingInterview ("the App") is an AI-powered coding assistant designed to help users learn algorithms, practice coding problems, and improve their technical skills for educational and practice purposes only.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Prohibited Use

This application is strictly for learning and practice purposes. Users are explicitly prohibited from using this app during actual job interviews, technical assessments, coding tests, or any evaluation where independent work is expected.

Using this app to cheat in interviews or assessments violates our Terms of Service and may violate laws regarding fraud and misrepresentation.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Google Account Information: When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your email address and basic profile information
API Keys: If you choose API key authentication, keys are stored locally on your device only

2.2 Information Automatically Collected

Browser Tab Data: URLs and titles of Chrome tabs you select for analysis
Screenshots: Images you capture are processed locally and sent to AI providers
Text Content: Web page text you extract for AI analysis

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do NOT track your browsing history beyond selected tabs
We do NOT store your screenshots or extracted text on our servers
We do NOT collect analytics or usage data
We do NOT share your data with third parties (except AI providers for processing)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

Authenticate your access to AI services (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT)
Process your coding questions and provide AI-generated solutions
Maintain your app preferences and settings locally

4. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: All data is stored locally on your device using macOS Keychain (encrypted)
No Cloud Storage: We do not maintain servers or cloud databases
OAuth Tokens: Stored securely in macOS Keychain with system-level encryption
API Keys: If used, stored in macOS Keychain only
Screenshots: Temporarily stored locally, deleted after processing

5. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following AI providers:

Google Gemini API: Your prompts and screenshots are sent to Google for processing. See Google's Privacy Policy
Anthropic Claude API: Your prompts may be sent to Anthropic for processing. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy
OpenAI ChatGPT API: Your prompts may be sent to OpenAI for processing. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy

Note: We have no control over how these providers handle your data. Please review their privacy policies before using the App.

6. Data Retention

OAuth tokens: Stored until you sign out or revoke access
API keys: Stored until you remove them from settings
Screenshots: Deleted immediately after AI processing
App preferences: Stored locally until you delete the app

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your locally stored data
Delete your data by uninstalling the app
Revoke Google OAuth access through Google Account settings
Remove API keys from the app at any time

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has used this app, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
